HELPTransporting RVs during the COVID19 Crisis
In these uncertain times, RV transportation has been deemed a necessity. Transporting RVs to different areas in the country to be used at medical facilities for mobile offices, testing facilities, and sleeping quarters has become necessary in the wake of COVID19. We need your help to make sure these units are delivered safely and in a timely manner. Certain states have created exemptions for items like tolls and permits. Do not assume anything. Look at this page for the details needed in these specific areas.
Is Wave Express providing an essential business?
Some drivers have asked if they are supposed to be driving right now?
The US Department of Homeland Security- CISA (Cyber Infrastructure Division), has posted the following guidelines for essential business definition.
In the “Transportation and Logistics” section, bullet point number two states the following:
Employees of firms providing services that enable logistics operations, including cooling, storing, packaging, and distributing products for wholesale or retail sale or use. Wave Express transportation service falls under the definition of “logistics operations” and “distributing products for wholesale or retail sale or use”. We do not anticipate any contractor travel restrictions and to date, no driver has been encumbered.
Wave Express Dealer Delivery Procedures – COVID19 Safety Protocols
Wave Express is focused on keeping our contractors safely operating during this challenging time. Equally, we want our customers, staff and all interacting parties safe at all times during our delivery service process. During this period of physical exposure to potential transmission of the virus from affected and asymptomatic people, Wave Express is asking our contractors to adhere to the following safety protocols when physically on a dealer’s property.
Driver must be wearing a protective facial covering at all times (reduces discharged droplets from talking, coughing, or sneezing)
Driver must maintain 6-foot social distancing from any customer/ dealer personnel at all times
Driver must never arrive at a dealer location with a fever or suspected illness symptoms.
Driver must wash hands prior to dealer personnel interaction (in accordance with CDC handwashing guidelines)
Driver must cough or sneeze into their shoulder/arm.
Driver must comply with all posted rules and guidelines at a dealership with respect to safety protocols for the dealer. If you do not see guidelines, please ask a dealer rep.
CDC Facial Covering Recommendations for Wave Express Contractors
Wave Express contractors are asked to start wearing a face covering while on the property of a delivery destination, in accordance with the CDC recommendation CDC continues to study the spread and effects of the novel coronavirus across the United States.
We now know from recent studies that a significant portion of individuals with coronavirus lack symptoms (“asymptomatic”) and that even those who eventually develop symptoms (“pre-symptomatic”) can transmit the virus to others before showing symptoms. This means that the virus can spread between people interacting in close proximity—for example, speaking, coughing, or sneezing—even if those people are not exhibiting symptoms. In light of this new evidence, CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies) especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.
It is critical to emphasize that maintaining 6-feet social distancing remains important to slow the spread of the virus. CDC is additionally advising the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others. Cloth face coverings fashioned from household items or made at home from common materials at low cost can be used as an additional, voluntary public health measure.
The cloth face coverings recommended are not surgical masks or N-95 respirators. Those are critical supplies that must continue to be reserved for healthcare workers and other medical first responders, as recommended by current CDC guidance.
This recommendation complements and does not replace the President’s Coronavirus Guidelines for America, 30 Days to Slow the Spreadexternal icon, which remains the cornerstone of our national effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus. CDC will make additional recommendations as evidence regarding appropriate public health measures continues to develop.
