Annually Jack-knife and Roll-over accidents make up 2.1% of 9.1 million accidents, but nearly 30% of them are fatal.
Jack-knife accidents occur when the cab of the truck contacts the trailer. These incidents are terribly dangerous. All control is lost and the event can encroach on multiple lanes of traffic.
Roll-over accidents occur when the vehicle comes off its wheels. This normally happens from side to side. These accidents can happen to any vehicle, however they are more common in vehicle transport. As tall, narrow vehicles with high centers of gravity are more prone to these problems.
